I’m not sure about the laws since you’re under 18, but you should definately contact your local DFCS (Department of Family and Children Services) and ask about getting medicaid.
Another option (though your mom will get pissed) is to just go to an OB/GYN (or even just a family practice in the meantime if an OB won’t take your insurance) on your own using the insurance she already has for you. You’re pregnant, and you need to see a doctor! Your mom needs to get over her pride and take care of her daughter and grandchild.

okay you can’t get your own insurance because your under the age of 18. but you should of already been on your mothers insurance when she first started her job. my sister was pregnant at 16 and had a miscarriage and got pregnant again at 17, my mom already had got insurance for her through her job way before she got pregnant, all of the treatment my sister received while and after she was pregnant was on my mom’s insurance. and the state isn’t gonna give you free insurance even if your mother takes you up to them because your under-age and you are her responsibility. and your mom could definitely get in a lot of trouble for denying you and your baby medical care. because even if you go to the doctor by yourself they won’t treat you because your under age. i have insurance through the state and that’s was only because i was older than 18, but state insurance still isn’t a good option because you can only go to your primary doctor and you can’t go to a specialist such as an OBGYN and that’s the doctor you really need to be seeing.
and for the record your mother needs to get over it. she’s not the first mother to have a daughter pregnant at a young age, and she won’t be the last. it’s a trend now a days. to me it’s actually starting to become normal because i see it so much.

You can get MEDICAID… but it will be very hard for you, because you need to provide a letter stating that you are supported by your parents and you need to prove their income. If your mom is making that much money you won’t be eligible. The only other option is to say that your parents are not supporting you in your pregnancy and meet with a counselor and figure out other options. At least, this is the way I had to do it in NY. I needed to get insurance before I told my parents I was pregnant- so my boyfriend and I had to say that he is supporting me and his income was low enough for me to get the insurance. So that’s how I got it. It can be very tricky! If your mom is making enough money, she needs to support you. You need good healthcare. She doesn’t have to go to the doctor with you. I think that’s disgusting she wouldn’t support you like that! I really wish you the best of luck :(

Head over to planned parenthood or your local social services department and claim yourself as independent. explain the situation to them. They will usually give you medicaid during your pregnancy and for 3 months post pregnancy.
And your mom should know better. You need a doctor to look after you during pregnancy. Tell her to get over her embarrassment. Because whether she likes it or not, she will be a grandma soon.

Have you attempted to go to Medicaid? I had a job and they let me get on it without knowing my parents income. You should try anyway, they may be able to be of some help to you. If not, try a Planned Parenthood or Health Dept and they will do your appointments based on income.

Go to your local DHS and talk to someone. They may be able to help you and not count your mom’s income since she is not willing to help. I’m not sure, but it never hurts to ask. You need to go to the doctor for your baby’s sake. Your mother not taking you is wrong.

Your mom needs to get over being embarassed and think about your health and the health of your baby. It is very crucial that you see a doctor through your whole pregnany. Good luck. I would definitely check out the health dept there in Memphis.

it doesn’t matter what your mom makes, it matters what you make only. You are now a separate household than your parents since you are pregnant. You only have to claim yourself and your baby.

you are the reason why girls under the age of 18 shouldnt have kids. My point made right here. Your mom should be embarrassed.
And she is to young to get insurance for herself
