What Is The Procedure For An 18 Year Old Adult To Collect Life Insurance That Was Maintained By Juvenile Court?
Teenagers father died leaving a life insurance policy that is currently held/administered by juvenile court until his 18th birthday. Can he represent himself or does he have to have an attorney represent him? In Memphis, TN

One never has to have attorney representation for anything, but it may be in his best interest to at least consult one and determine the most appropriate approach. If the death benefit is in fact held in trust for this individual with his attaining age of majority being the only condition, there should be little or no problem.
Go to the local county courthouse. They should be able to give you those answers.
He can represent himself . .. but the court should automatically turn it over, if the original order said he gets it at 18!
